ABOUT

Screenwriter. Storyteller. Mentor.

Ana Lasić is a screenwriter, playwright, and mentor who writes, thinks, and speaks in three languages: English, Slovenian, and Serbian. Born in Belgrade and based in Ljubljana, she works internationally across film, television, and theater. Her writing is intuitive, emotional, and deeply rooted in the human psyche.

In recent years, Ana has been developing the Intuitive Screenwriting system — a creative process that emerged from her work with writers, students, and her own instinctive approach to storytelling.

She also served as an Assistant Professor for Screenwriting for film and TV at the State Academy for Theater, Film, and Television (AGRFT) in Ljubljana, where she taught intensively for many years — and continues to share her approach through international workshops and masterclasses.

Alongside her ongoing work in screenwriting and teaching, Ana is currently working on her first novel.

Film

2024 Lasić co-wrote the feature film The Man Who Doesn’t Exist with director Nejc Levstik (in production).

2016 /2017 During a stay at the Ingmar Bergman’s Estate, Ana completed her screenplay for the feature film Green Softness. The development of Green Softness was supported by the Slovenian Film Centre. Ana is open for collaborations with directors and film productions.

2013 / 2014 Lasic wrote two screenplays Balkan Is Not Dead directed by Aleksandar Popovski (prod. Kino oko, Robert Naskov, Makedonia), and Driving School directed by Janez Burger (prod. RTV Slovenia).

2011 she did adaptation for In Treatment (BeTipul) for all 45 episodes for POP TV Slovenia.

2009 Ana wrote the screenplay for TV film Angela Vode, Hidden Memories, directed by Maja Weiss (prod. RTV Slovenia), that won the Viktor prize for the best Slovenian TV film.

2016 Lasic wrote an adaptation of One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez for Pandur theaters. Though the project remained unrealized, the adaptation stands as a powerful exploration of Márquez’s world.

The play won the Selenic prize, a prize annually given for best graduating play and the Third prize at the Competition for the best EX-YU play 2000, organized by Theater m.b.H. in Wien, Austria. It is printed in German and its original Serbian in the collection of plays named Schutzzone und Andere Neue Stucke Aus Exjugoslavien published by Folio Verlag 2002.
